Gold Line Metro

Doha Metro is helping Qatar improve transportation and infrastructure across the city.

The project is critical for the 2022 World Cup and is central to delivering Qatar’s 2030 vision. The USD 3.3 billion East-West Gold (Historic) Line extends from Ras Bu Aboud to Al Aziziya.

Gold Line (also known as Historic Line) Metro Project is a light rail line that is a part of the Qatar Integrated Rail Project, which is guided by the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The East-West Gold Line runs through old Doha, extending from Ras Abu Aboud Station to Al Aziziya Station over a distance of 32 km.

The Doha Metro is part of the Qatar Integrated Railways Program (QIRP).

The Gold Line Underground section of the network runs East/West through the heart of Doha City, starting to the East at Airport City and continuing through Al Sharq, Doha Souq, Msheireb and Al Adhawaa, before following both Al Sadd Street and Al Waab Street to the West of Doha and terminating at Sports City in the Aspire Zone.

BIMTEC was appointed as BIM Consultant by the ALYSJ JV to establish all BIM requirements according to Qatar Rail guidelines to be followed by consultants and subcontractors, in addition to managing and validating all models produced by design consultants and site construction teams, BIMTEC has undertaken the training for its JV staff. Due to the complexity of the project, BIMTEC had to develop programmes scripts and workflows to enhance off the shelf content creation tools used for modeling and have developed the guidelines and deliveries for planning and cost management through the visualized BIM tools for the use of planning and cost control teams.
